Her full title is Eilleen Regina Twain.
On why she modified her title, she defined, “It’s really a protracted story. In brief, I used to be born Eilleen Regina Edwards, after which I used to be adopted and I grew to become Eilleen Regina Twain. Then I grew to become an expert singer and I wanted a stage title that sounded rather less like my grandmother’s title, as a result of I’m named after my grandmother, each my grandmothers, Eilleen and Regina.
“I feel, in my thoughts, I used to be simply not likely eager to be known as my grandmother’s title onstage, so I made a decision to vary it to Shania Twain,” she added. “I met anyone with the title Shania, thought it was lovely, and Shania Twain was born.”
